Home office to nursery conversion

A compact home office reimagined as an elegant modern-classic nursery — same room, same window, completely new purpose.

Before After

It's the same room — same window, same compact footprint — with a completely new purpose. Where there was a desk, office chair and bookcase, there's now a calm modern-classic nursery that still feels like part of the house.

A substantial painted-wood cot, a dark timber changing dresser, a cream upholstered nursing chair, a plaid ottoman and a traditional rocking horse are arranged to keep the layout comfortable without crowding the space.

The palette pairs warm ivory, soft taupe and muted powder blue with navy and dark wood for a calm, gender-neutral scheme. Decorative wall moulding adds depth, while a tailored Roman blind, full-length curtains and a brass pole frame the window — and soften the daylight for naps.

Equestrian prints in antique-brass frames bring a country-house feel, echoed in the embroidered cot blanket and rocking horse. A cream rug with a pale-blue border grounds the furniture and woven baskets keep blankets and toys tidy — a timeless nursery, and a refined alternative to brightly themed children's rooms.
